Harvest Host/Garry and Kim's Review

May 30, 2026

We had a wonderful stay at Pecan Creek Winery. Communication before our arrival was excellent, with clear directions and prompt responses that made planning easy and stress-free. The property was peaceful and well-maintained, providing a relaxing overnight stop. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. We especially enjoyed the winery atmosphere and appreciated the opportunity to support a local business. If you’re looking for a Harvest Hosts location with great communication, warm hospitality, and a pleasant setting, Pecan Creek Winery is an excellent choice. We would happily stay here again.

We enjoyed a wine tasting and cheese tray shortly after arrival and had a quiet evening after. They offered 50 amp hook up for $15, it was very hot and was nice to take them up on that. would recommend it if passing through that way! Thank you.

Lovely hosts and good wine! It’s great to have the hookups and plenty of space to walk the dogs. We will certainly stop again on our way through!

Our Story

The story goes a little something like this: a retired pediatrician who owns 500 acres on the Arkansas River took note of his Episcopal Priest and his winemaking hobby and started a winery. Dr. D.I. Wilkinson also served on the vestry at Grace Episcopal Church where he helped recruit Bob Wickizer to relocate to Muskogee, OK. Their friendship was immediate and they joined forces to plant a vineyard and start a winery.

In 2012, three acres of Chambourcin, Vignoles and Riesling were planted and has since grown to a 7 + acre vineyard with additions of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. The winery was licensed in late 2014 with a tasting room located one mile west of the main vineyard. Additional grapes were purchased within the Ozark Mountain American Viticulture Area (AVA) to supplement production while the young vines matured. Pecan Creek Winery processes and ferments all grapes on-site to ensure maximum quality for each bottle of wine produced….
